French tech startup Aircall has raised $65 million in Series C funding as it looks to bolster its cloud-based voice platform and fund its global expansion.

Aircall was founded by Olivier Pailhes, Pierre-Baptiste Béchu, Xavier Durand, and Jonathan Anguelov in Paris in 2014 to develop a next-generation voice and productivity platform that caters to modern business needs.

The cloud-based voice platform filled a market gap, and the company has seen dramatic growth in the last years. Today, the product is easily adoptable in every way, easy to set up, easy to use, easy to integrate, and easy to scale, with no coding skills necessary. With the COVID-19 pandemic, Aircall’s mission to seamlessly connect even the most distant teams with their customers and prospects has become increasingly essential. The company has helped thousands of new and existing customers to quickly transition to a fully remote workplace.

Initially, the product was intended to only serve customer support desks by significantly shortening the setup process and fostering productivity. However, seeing the general market need for a modern, cloud-based phone system, Aircall rapidly expanded its reach to outbound sales teams and other departments through its App Marketplace.

With over 60 deep, but easy one-click integrations—including CRM systems (Pipedrive, Salesforce, HubSpot), helpdesk solutions (Freshdesk, Intercom), eCommerce applications (Shopify), as well as AI and transcription solutions (Chorus.ai, Gong)—Aircall is able to facilitate productivity enhancements for every team throughout a company.

Aircall’s customizable and flexible user interface enables businesses of any size to set up and have full control of their sales and support voice platform within minutes. With its rich analytics functionalities, companies can reach critical business goals and drive customer satisfaction by enabling efficient teamwork, tracking progress, and increasing productivity of sales and support teams by providing additional information on customers and previous interactions.

DTCP‘s Venture and Growth Fund II led the round and was joined by new investors Adams Street and Swisscom Ventures. Existing investors eFounders, Draper Esprit, Balderton Capital, and NextWorld also participated in the round. The company has now raised more than $100m in total.

Olivier Pailhès, co-founder and CEO, Aircall: “This critical need for more efficient, human conversations—be it with customers, prospects, candidates, or colleagues—is playing out in real-time and with greater urgency than ever before. Our focus has always been to empower our clients to provide memorable, 'wow' moments for their customers. With this latest round, we’re using the funds to double down on our platform to provide a richer voice app ecosystem for our customers, while also broadening our global expansion and deepening our reach with resellers and master agents around the world.”

Thomas Preuss, Partner, DTCP: “We have been following Aircall’s journey for years and are very happy to partner with this great team of founders and investors. The majority of phone systems installed are still on premise. With Aircall’s customer-first approach centered around easy setup and integration, Aircall offers the perfect solution for companies seeking to evolve to cloud-based communication solutions. The company has secured a spot at the top of the European SaaS ecosystem and we see tremendous potential as businesses increasingly adopt remote working routines.”
