French cloud infrastructure startup Newboot completes first fundraising round to accelerate growth
Toulouse and Paris-based startup Newboot announced it has completed its first fundraising round with NOVA by Saint-Gobain and several Business Angels.
For this first round of financing, NOVA by Saint-Gobain integrates the capital of the company, accompanied by Pilot Fish II and several private investors. The funds raised will help to structure the team, accelerate the industrialization of the Newboot Edge OS and Newboot PaaS solutions, and finally support the commercial development of the company.
Founded in 2020, Newboot standardized data collection from industrial machines and automatons thanks to its operating system embedded in IoT (Internet of Things) gateways and the native integration into the Cloud infrastructures and SaaS solutions of its customers. Newboot has already commercialized its solutions with large industrial groups in several countries (Europe, US, China) in various technical contexts.
Newboot Edge OS makes it easy to control, collect and send data from PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and industrial sensors to Cloud infrastructures and clients' business applications with real-time machine data flows.
Newboot PaaS allows deployment of a complete and secure Internet of Things (IoT) infrastructure in a few minutes, as a service or integrated into an existing infrastructure, while offering all the services necessary for its administration: device management, provisioning, remote updates, Digital Twins, security and event monitoring.
To support its development, Newboot has signed close technical partnerships with several major technology players such as Microsoft, Lenovo and Nvidia in order to offer innovative and integrated solutions to complex industrial environments.
Newboot's two founders, Julien Morin (CEO) and Wael Chahrour (CIO), met during a previous entrepreneurial adventure around sensor solutions and automation of industrial processes. Recently joined by Sébastien Laruée (CTO), the company now intends to strengthen its team in the coming months, and roll out its solutions on a large scale.
